Adulterated sauce production unit busted in Odisha capital

Bhubaneswar: The Twin City Commissionerate Police last night busted an adulterated sauce production unit at Mahaveer Basti in Sailashree Vihar area of Odisha capital.

Spurious tomato sauce, chili sauce and soy sauce were being produced at the unit using pumpkin, reports said.

Acting on a tip-off about the adulteration, a team of Chandrasekharpur police raided the spot and seized the equipment used in producing the sauce.

Police have arrested Arta Singh of Jajpur district over his alleged involvement in the production.

The accused used to sell the sauces to small hotels and roadside eateries in Chandrasekharpur and Patia areas at cheap prices, sources said.
