After Ganjam, 3-day shutdown announced in areas of this Odisha district

Paralakhemundi:  Keeping in view the rise in COVID-19 positive cases, Gajapati  district administration today announced shutdown in two blocks, one Gram Panchayat (GP)and in the town here for three days starting June 28.

“Gosani and Gumma blocks, Ranipentho GP under Kashinagar block and Paralakhemundi town will remain under shutdown for 3 days (from June 28 to June 30).  However, medical emergency  and other essential services will be allowed during the shutdown,” informed district Collector Anupam Saha.

This apart, 40 medical teams will be formed for door-to-door survey, added the Collector seeking cooperation from public.

Worth mentioning, the district is witnessing a rise in positive cases for the last couple of days. Currently, the district’s tally stands at  411, including 290 active cases.

Earlier yesterday, the Ganjam district administration announced complete shutdown in Berhampur Municipal Corporation (BeMC) area  for three days starting June 27.
