After Niali, unknown animal kills sheep in Odisha’s Kalahandi

Bhawanipatna: While the ‘unknown animal’ continues to unleash terror in Niali block in Cuttack district, similar incident has come to the fore in Odisha’s Kalahandi district.

Two sheep were killed at Maharanapada village of Pandigoan panchayat under Kamalpur block in the district in a style similar to that in Niali where over 200 sheep have been killed.

“I found two sheep missing from the shed after which I went out in search of them. I found one of them dead about 700 metre from my house. The sheep is found beheaded with abdomen torn apart. The other sheep is yet to be traced,” Narendra Sabar, the sheep owner said.

The Forest department officials have been informed about the incident.

Forest official Bhubaneswar Behera reached the spot and began investigation into the incident.

Reacting to the development, Forest and Environment Minister Bijayshree Routray said, report has been sought from PCCF and RCF in this regard.
