According to sources, after waiting for two days for repairs, the college authorities returned about 500 Chemistry and 250 Commerce papers that had not been evaluated.

Notably, a short circuit that occurred at about 10 AM on Saturday had damaged two computers used for evaluation along with two fans and an air-conditioner.

Even though the college authorities attempted to run from pillar to post to get the issue sorted, no solution was reached.

“We had taken up the matter with North Eastern Electricity Supply Company of Odisha (NESCO), however, they didn’t respond until we approached the collector. Even when they did — after the Collector intervened–, they asked us to get in touch with General Electricity Department (GED) to get it resolved. CHSE, on the other hand, asked us to send back the remaining papers,” said Principal of Dharanidhara Autonomous College Golakh Bihari Rout.

CHSE Chairman Basudeb Chattoi today said that the answer sheets are being evaluated at other centres.
