After spurious edible oil, 1000 litre adulterated fuel seized in Odisha’s Cuttack

Cuttack: Odisha’s millennium city Cuttack seems to have turned into an adulteration hub as more than 1000 litre of PDS kerosene and adulterated diesel was seized from Jagatpur here today.

Acting on a tip-off, Jagatpur police today raided an abandoned toilet in the area and seized the adulterated fuel amounting to over 1000 litre contained in several barrels.

Police have arrested one Kedareswar Swain of Nanakar area for his alleged involvement in the adulteration.

As per reports, the accused used to steal diesel from oil tankers parked at truck terminal in Jagatpur and sell it to truck drivers after mixing the fuel with kerosene.

The District Supplies Department has been informed for examination of the seized kerosene.

Worth mentioning, the seizure comes a day after 1500 litre of adulterated edible oil was seized from a godown in Jagatpur.
