Age fudging: BCCI bans two Odisha cricketers for 2 years

Cuttack: Allegation of age fudging has once again surfaced in Odisha Cricket Association (OCA)  with the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) imposing a ban on two cricketers from playing domestic matches for two years.

The action was taken after the cricketers- Somen Chand and Biswajit Mallick- were found guilty of fudging their age in under-23 tournaments.

The two players will not be allowed to play in 2021-22 and 2022-23 cricket seasons. Following the ban, the two players have been removed from the state’s Under-23 squad. The two had gone to Kolkata for a tournament.

Earlier in November, the BCCI had banned two Odisha cricketers Rajesh Mohanty and Krishna Palai for two years for allegedly submitting fake age certificates.
