Bhubaneswar, Mar 27:

Air India will start flight operation from Odisha capital to Visakhapatnam (Vizag) from April 7, announced Air India yesterday.

“In view of number of passengers travelling between Bhubaneswar and Visakhapatnam, Air India has decided to operate new flight on the route. The size of new flight will be comparatively smaller than other Air India flights. The 72-seater flight will reach the destination Visakhapatnam just in 1.25 hour”, said Air India Regional Officer Tapas Ray.

The flight operation will begin from April 7 for which the bookings are opened. The air fare has been fixed at around Rs 3,300, he said.

As per the flight schedule, the flight number AI-9555 will start from Visakhapatnam at around 12.40 pm and reach at 2.05 pm at Biju Patnaik airport. Again, it will leave at 2.30 pm from Bhubaneswar and land at 3.55 pm in Visakhapatnam. The operation will be six days in a week other than Wednesday.

While Indigo is operating its flights on Chennai-Visakhapatnam-Bhubaneswar route, the new flight operation by Air India is good news for the air travelers in Bhubaneswar. We had earlier given nod to the Air India for the new flight operation between Bhubaneswar and Visakhapatnam. Now, the Visakhapatnam airport authority has given permission to Air India. There will be no issue in the flight operation, said Bhubaneswar Airport Director R Mahalingam.
