Air India to sell Odisha tourism from Dec 1

Come December 1, Air India, the national carrier will sell Odisha Tourism Development Corporation’s (OTDC) tour packages to tourists from within the country and abroad.

Bookings for the OTDC packages will be available at Air India’s website from December 1 this year.

In a bid to attract tourists from outside states and abroad to Odisha’s main tourist destinations at fair price and with ease, OTDC has joined hands with Air India and has inked an agreement with the national carrier in this regard recently, revealed Anil Kumar Samal, director Tourism.

OTDC’s packages will available with Air India tickets. Tourists will now be able to buy OTDC packages for visits to places of tourist interest inside the state along with their flight tickets to Bhubaneswar. On reaching Bhubaneswar hospitality will be provided by OTDC in accordance with the package booked by the concerned tourist.

Air India has included three packages of OTDC-Bhubaneswar-Puri-Konark (Golden Triangle Tour), Bhubaneswar-Puri-Konark-Chilika (Dream Destination Chilika Tour), Ratnagiri-Lalitgiri-Udayagiri-Bhitarkanika (Buddhist Wildlife Tour) in its package. The duration of these packages will be 2nights/3days. Air India will charge special fares for these packages.

Recently, OTDC at a high-level meeting with Air India had proposed for inclusion of five tour packages of which the national carrier approved three.

OTDC is expectant of a boost in the tourist inflow into the state with the new initiative.
