Bhubaneswar, Mar 10:

Odisha BJP president KV Singhdeo today said there would be no alliance with any political parties and the party would go to polls alone as of now.

“We had earlier said that the party would contest the ensuing elections on its own and there would be no alliance. Let’s bury the alliance talk. The party would contest alone as of now,” Singhdeo told media persons here.

The statement of the BJP president effectively puts an end to speculation of alliance with other parties in the state. Meanwhile, the Utkal Bharat party is now engaged in a discussion with the Ama Odisha Party (AOP) headed by Soumya Ranjan Patnaik for a seat sharing arrangement.

Speaking on BJP’s prime minister candidate Narendra Modi’s visit to Sambalpur, he said Modi will reach the PHD ground of Sambalpur about 11 am on March 14, where he will address a large gathering at 1.30 pm.

People from five Lok Sabha constituencies – Sambalpur, Sundargarh, Bargarh, Balangir and Kalahandi – will come to the rally. Besides, people from Boudh will also participate in the gathering, said Singhdeo.
