Ammonia leak triggers panic in Odisha’s Balasore

Balasore: Leakage of ammonia from a cold storage at ITI Chhak in Odisha’s Balasore district triggered panic among the locals today.

On being informed, Fire personnel reached the spot and carried out restoration work immediately, thereby averting a major mishap. No casualities have been reported due to the leakage.

Residents of the area expressed displeasure over the incident and blocked road. The blockade was withdrawn after police reached the place and pacified the locals.

“We had complained about such leakages in the recent past multiple times, but our grievances were unheard. Prompt action by the Fire personnel averted a major accident today,” a local said.
