Angry people block road after school student dies in accident

Angry people in Raikia blocked the main road after a 10 year old student of the local St Catherine school was killed in a road mishap here.

The incident happened this morning when a tractor hit a bike on which the boy Deepak Sahu, a student of class-IV was going to the school with his father. The boy who flew off the bike, crashed against a log of wood placed on the roadside and died on the spot.

The local people then gathered at the accident site and decided to block the road to protest the indifference of the administration which had not taken any steps to clear the narrow road of the tree logs and heaps of road construction materials that had rendered traffic both difficult and dangerous.

The people are also demanding a compensation of Rs 15 lakh to the family of the deceased, reports said.
