Angul spurious liquor tragedy: Four arrested
Angul: in a significant development in the Angul spurious liquor tragedy, police arrested four persons in connection with the incident last night.
The Purunakote police arrested Kalia Dehury (30) of Pathargarh, Tukuna Dehury (30) of Badahinsar, Srikant Sahu (31) of Gobara village and Ranjit Sahu (33) of Jhintipal village in the district.
The police said Tukuna supplied the spirit to Kalia for making illicit distilled liquor. Ranjit supplied Mahuli to Kalia for illicit distillation of liquor. Both of them knew that Kalia has no license for distillation of liquor. But Kalia supplied distilled liquor illegally to Srikant for further sale. All of them have been arrested. said a statement issued by the Angul district police headquarters.

Earlier yesterday, Odisha Excise Minister Niranjan Pujari ordered a detailed investigation into the incident . And the Excise Department and the police have already submitted a joint preliminary probe report on the incident.
Four persons died and four others were hospitalized in critical condition after consuming spurious liquor at Patharagada village under Purunakote police limits in the district on October 18 evening,
