Bhubaneswar: Odisha’s COVID-19 tally today further surged to 2,44,142 after 3144 more persons in the state tested positive for the virus in the last 24.
Of the total fresh cases detected from all 30 districts, 1825 have been reported from different quarantine centres while remaining 1319 are local contacts. Contact tracing and follow-up action is underway, said Information and Public Relation (I & PR ) Department.
Khordha recorded highest 562 fresh cases followed by Cuttack (243) and Sambalpur (136).

With the new cases, the number of active cases in the state rose to 29, 443. However, 2,13,672 patients have recovered in the state so far.
Total 49,909 number of samples were tested in the state in the last 24 hours. So far 36,19,509 tests have been conducted in the state.
