Another Ganja seizure in Odisha capital; 3 arrested with cannabis worth Rs 5 lakh

Bhubaneswar: In yet another catch, the Commissionerate Police (CP) today seized a huge cache of cannabis worth Rs 5 lakh being smuggled in a car in Tamando area here.

Acting on a tipoff, a special squad of the CP conducted a crackdown and intercepted a car in Tamando area. The cops recovered Ganja from the car dicky and arrested three occupants of the vehicle.

During interrogation, it was revealed that the contraband item was being smuggled from Phulbani to Salia Sahi Basti here.

Further interrogation of the accused is underway, police said.

Earlier on July 10, the Special Task Force (STF) of Odisha Crime Branch seized cannabis worth around Rs 10 lakh from a car near Khandagiri Chhak here. Three persons, including the driver were arrested in this connection.
