Another IPL betting racket busted in Odisha; 6 held

Aska: The Ganjam Police busted a gang involved in betting on the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) matches and arrested six persons.

Acting on a tip-off, a team of police raided a place near College ground at Podamari under Patapur police limits. The police personnel detained six persons for allegedly being involved in the IPL betting. Following brief questioning, the detainees were arrested. Cash worth Rs 1.45 lakh were seized from the possession of the six accused.

Also, the Patapur Police seized six mobile phones and one motorcycle.

On April 17, nine people were arrested for their alleged involvement in an IPL betting racket in Jamunanaki area of Rourkela. The accused were residents of Chhattisgarh.

Police seized cash, 18 mobile phones and tablets from the accused.
