Another Odisha Engineer arrested by Vigilance in disproportionate assets case

Bhubaneswar: A day after conducting raids at different places associated with R&B Division-V, Bhubaneswar’s Assistant Engineer, Sarada Prasad Gauda, the Vigilance today arrested him on charges of amassing disproportionate assets.

A statement issued by the Vigilance stated Gauda has been arrested after a case was registered against him and spouse. The statement added Gauda will be forwarded to the court of special judge, vigilance, Bhubaneswar tomorrow.

After search, inventory and further inquiry, the income and expenditure and assets of Gauda was calculated and he was found in possession of assets disproportionate to the known sources of income to the tune of Rs 1,33,13,443.

During raids yesterday Gauda was found in possession of one triple-storied building, one flat, 19 numbers of plots, one four-wheeler, two numbers of two-wheelers, deposits in different banks, investment in insurance policies, gold and silver ornaments, cash and household articles, the statement added.

The Vigilance arrested Rabindra Nath Pradhan, Assistant Executive Engineer of GPH Division-II, yesterday on charges of amassing assets disproportionate to his known sources of income.
