Kendrapara, Apr 3:

In yet another case of Odisha government employees canvassing for ruling party candidates, a junior clerk of the government-run Janata High School in Palimi village under Aul police limits in Kendrapara district was suspended today for gross violation of the Model Code of Conduct, official sources said.

Gyanendra Samal, a junior clerk of the Janata High School run under the School and Mass Education department in Palimi village, faced charges of canvassing for the BJD candidate in Aul area, sources said.

The probe conducted by the district education officer into the allegations against Samal found corroborative evidence against him and he was suspended for violating the MCC, said Ratnakar Rout, collector, Kendrapara.

The collector said probe has been ordered against three more government employees who are facing similar charges of violation of model code of conduct.

If the allegations against them are found to be correct and they are found guilty, they too will be placed under suspension, the collector added.
