Anti-Maoist Ops to resume after Dussehra

Based on the intelligence input that Maoists have set up their base in the cut-off region of Pattangi and Nandapur areas bordering Malkangiri district, the security personnel have prepared a blueprint to launch a major operation.

After being flushed out from Narayanpatna and Bandhugan blocks in Koraput district due to frequent operation by the BSF, SOG and the police, the Maoists have, of late, found this new area a safe corridor.

In the last Unified Command meeting, held recently in Bhubaneswar, it has  decided to intensity combing operation in the new corridor after the rainy season is over.

Prior to the meeting, Director General of Police (DGP) Prakash Mishra and home secretary Bipin Saxena had a meeting with the SPs of undivided Koraput district about the movements of the red rebels in their areas.

This was followed by the visit of two senior officials of the Union home ministry, Naxal Management Security advisor K Vijay Kumar,and Dipak Kedia, director, Anti-Naxal Cell to the district after which they have given a go-ahead to the plan to intensify the combing operation after Dussehra.
