Anupam Kher recalls Bollywood journey in Odisha capital

Bhubaneswar: Veteran Bollywood actor Anupam Kher regaled the audience with his life story by saying all dreams come true and therefore don’t stop dreaming.

The versatile actor was here to inaugurate the third edition of Kalinga International Film Festival here on Friday evening.

“When I got my first Filmfare trophy as best actor in ‘Saaransh’ at the age of 28, I held the trophy in my hands and said all dreams come true, so don’t stop dreaming,” Kher recalled his initial success in Bollywood.

Stressing on training of actors, the acclaimed actor said: “I was 28 and played the role of a retired 65-year-old school teacher just because I had knowledge of my training.”

Sharing the vital ingredients for success and valuable experiences out of his life, Kher left the audience both in splits and motivated.

The 62-year-old was recently appointed as the new chairperson of India’s premier Film and Television Institute of India (FTII) replacing Gajendra Chauhan.

Kher an alumnus of National School of Drama, has acted in over 500 films, many of them critically acclaimed projects. His repertoire includes international projects such as Bend It Like Beckham and Silver Linings Playbook.

The three-day long film festival, organized by KIIT School of Film & Media Sciences & KIIT Film Society will conclude on November 5.

‘Ranchi Diaries’, written and directed by Odia boy Sattwik Mohanty among other films will be screened at the film fest.
