The Baleswar Police will move court on January 27 to take Ishwar on remand for further interrogation, police sources said.

Ishwar who hails from Kantipur village under Baisinga police limits in Mayurbhanj district had been working at the ITR as a contractual cameraman since 2007, hr has been charged for treason and  criminal conspiracy. Ishwar had been allegedly passing on vital information on DRDO’s missile plans to Pakistan’s ISI.

“We had intelligence inputs on his activities, after gathering evidence we nabbed him. He has confessed of sharing vital secrets with a foreign country during his interrogation. He has been booked under various sections of IPC and the Official Secrets Act”, said Sanjeev Marik DGP, Odisha speaking to newsmen at Bhubaneswar.

However, all are stunned at Ishwar’s village in Kantipur as news broke . None is prepared to believe that Ishwar could have done such a thing, his family believes he has been framed by someone with malafide intention. His villagers said that Ishwar had put up a photo studio at his village after passing his Bachelor’s in Arts till he got the job at ITR in 2007.

” What can I say? I have no idea. I cannot believe that he could have done it. What can I say he has never told anything. Whenever he used to come to the village he would have his food enjoy his sleep then take pictures in the village with his cameras. At this moment what can a old father like me who is ignorant tell, all I can tell is he has been framed”, said Nilakantha Behera, Ishwar’s father.

“I had been to Baleswar on my return I heard that they had taken him in the night. I do not  know anything. My boy is innocent, he had been framed by someone with bad intent”, said a sobbing Supamani, mother of Ishwar, her eyes filled to the brim with tears.
