Arrested IAS officer Partha Sarathi produced before Odisha court, sent to jail

Cuttack, Feb 23:

Arrested IAS officer Partha Sarathi Mishra was today produced before the Special Vigilance Court here after completion of his 2-day remand period following which he was sent to Choudwar Circle Jail in Odisha’s Cuttack.

The court had on February 20 allowed the Vigilance to take Mishra on a 2-day remand starting from February 21.

Earlier, the court had rejected the bail plea of Mishra.

Besides, the Odisha government has suspended him from his job. He was serving as Managing Director of Odisha Small Industries Corporation Ltd.

Notably, Mishra was arrested on charges of amassing disproportionate assets.

He was apprehended by Vigilance sleuths near his office while carrying huge amount of cash in his car on February 16.

Preliminary investigation revealed that the bureaucrat amassed assets worth over Rs 5 crore.
