Puri: A day after curtains came down on the 11-day-long Dhanu Jatra in Odisha’s Bargarh town, Hrusikesh Bhoi who played the role of King Kansa, along with fellow artistes who enacted characters of his ministers, took a holy dip in the sea at Odisha’s Puri today. The bath in the sea, as per custom, signifies the actors getting rid of the bad deeds committed while enacting the role of Kansa and his ministers.
They also visited Govardhan Pitha here to seek blessings of Jagadguru Shankaracharya after visiting the Shree Jagannath Temple to seek forgiveness from the Lord and cleanse themselves of the sins they had committed while enacting their roles.
