Ashok Mohapatra elected Odisha HC Bar Assn president

Cuttack, May 17:

Senior Advocate Ashok Mohapatra was elected as the president of the Odisha High Court Bar Association on Saturday.

Mohapatra who polled 865 votes, defeated Srikant Naik and Jagabandhu Sahu by 66 votes each.

Apart from Mohapatra, newly-appointed standing counsel of the state government Lalatendu Samantray was elected as the vice-president of the Association. Samantray who polled 1,352 votes, defeated Srinibas Mohanty by 227 votes.

Among others, Bijay Kumar Ragad was elected as the secretary, Karunakar Das as joint secretary.

Apart from the elections of two assistant secretaries, Rupesh Kanungo and Nikunja Deo (library), nine executive body members were also elected.
