At 1,093, Odisha Capital reports highest-ever single-day spike in Covid cases

Bhubaneswar: The city today reported the highest-ever single-day spike in Covid-19 positive cases. As per the data provided by the Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC), as many as 1,093 coronavirus positive cases were detected in the city in last 24 hours till 9 AM on May 1.

Of them, 121 were quarantine cases whereas 972 were local contact cases. With this the city reported a total of 45,508 Covid cases so far.

As many as 509 Covid patients in the city recuperated from the disease today. Till date, 37,054 Covid patients have recovered in Bhubaneswar.

The data also mentioned the number of active cases in Bhubaneswar so far was 8,168 while a total of 265 persons died of the coronavirus disease.
