Attack on Pandian’s res: Another accused held from Odisha capital

Bhubaneswar: The Twin City Commissionerate Police have arrested one more person in connection with the attack on official residence of V Karthikeyan Pandian, the private secretary to Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, here recently.

The arrested has been identified as Bhimsen Nayak alias DJ Bapi of Jharpada here. With this, the number of arrests in the case mounted to 9.

Earlier, Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM) general secretary Rakesh Jena was arrested over his alleged involvement in the incident.

Notably, over 30 members of BJYM, the youth wing of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), had on February 10 barged into the official residence of Pandian here besides hurling cow dung at the main gate, breaking flower pots, damaging few vehicles parked on the premises and pelting stones.

While four of them were arrested on the very day, others were arrested later.
