Auto driver leaves accident victims in Odisha’s Jharsuguda; one dies

Jharsuguda: In an inhumane act, an auto-rickshaw driver allegedly left three passengers in an injured state after the vehicle met accident at Belpahar in Odisha’s Jharsuguda district last night.

One of them later succumbed to injuries on the spot, reports said.

On being informed, police reached the spot, rescued the victims and admitted them to Jharsuguda district headquarters hospital today.

According to reports, Jadhav Satra, Kabir Mallick and Subhash Mallick, all three labourers hailing from West Bengal, reached Jharsuguda last night by Gitanjali Express.

While they were going from Jharsuguda railway station to Belpahar in an auto-rickshaw, the three-wheeler dashed into a stationary truck from rear injuring them.

The driver of the vehicle then dumped them at a nearby forest and fled the spot.

While Jadhav died after the accident, Kabir and Subhash sustained grievous injuries.
