Babula Panda consciously avoiding presence: Odisha DGP

Odisha Sun Times Bureau
Bhubaneswar, Apr 25:

In a fresh twist in the mysterious missing of freedom fighter Laxmi Indira Panda’s grandson Babula Panda, Odisha DGP KB Singh today said that he is consciously avoiding his presence.

In another shocking revelation, Singh said criminal cases cases are pending against him.

“What so far I could gather is that he is consciously avoiding his presence,” the DGP said.

Singh further said that Babula might have gone somewhere over a quarrel with his brother.

“There was a quarrel between Babula and his brother. His brother scolded him as to why he left his mother and sister at the station for which they boarded different trains. I think Babula might have gone somewhere in anger over the issue,” he said.

“We tracked Babula and his mobile phone was last seen in Mancheswar area on April 18. After that, he has diverted the calls to a lady’s number. We have called the lady and interrogated her but she has shown unawareness about the incident,” he added.

Notably, Babula, son of Surendra Panda and Sujata Panda, went missing after being separated from his parents at Bhubaneswar railway station.

The family was invited for attending a programme at Raj Bhavan here on April 16 where Prime Minister Narendra Modi felicitated them as the descendants of freedom fighter Laxmi Indira Panda.
