Baby found alive after being buried in cremation ground in Odisha

An eight-month-old baby boy was rescued from under earth in a cremation ground in Odisha’s Jajpur district who was buried by some unidentified persons.

According to reports, a villager from Haladigadia heard muffled cries of a baby this morning while he was passing by the cremation ground near Haladigadia village in Sadakpur panchayat under Korei block in the district.

He moved closer only to found a baby buried under piles of earth with a cloth wrapped around him.

The baby was dug out with the help of local villagers and rushed to Korei Primary Health Centre (PHC) for treatment. He was shifted to SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack as his condition deteriorated.

While the identity of the baby was not ascertained, it was talked about that he was buried as human sacrifice or presumed to be dead.
