Bandh in Odisha’s Bargarh over City Hospital demand

Bargarh: A bandh is being observed by Ekta Manch in Odisha’s Bargarh town today over the demand of establishment of a City Hospital here.

While shops and business establishments remained closed in view of the bandh call, no significant vehicular movement was seen in the town.

Hundreds of locals had yesterday staged a demonstration in front of the old district headquarters hospital (DHH) building here demanding to transform it into a City Hospital. The DHH was recently shifted to a place around 10 km away from the previous location.

Tension ran high yesterday as clash erupted between the agitators and the police when the latter tried to evict them. The locals have threatened to continue the agitation until establishment of a City Hospital.
