Rudra Narayan Sahu , general secretary of the city-based Odisha Vikash Parishad, found the girl crying helplessly near the Ravi Talkies square here and  found out after talking to her that her employer, owner of a local beauty parlour had forced her to join the sex racket run by him.

The woman told Sahu that she came to Odisha recently after Raju, a fellow Bangladeshi , motivated her to come here and earn good money as a worker in the flourishing embroidery business in Odisha. Raju, as she discovered later, actually works as a pimp.

Sahu said, the young girl reached Bhubaneswar 17 days ago and soon realized she had been taken for a ride.

“The police should arrest Raju, the pimp, the owner of the beauty parlour and bust the sex racket,” Sahu said .

While the young girl has been sent to a local short-stay home, sources in the  police commissionerate said inquiry by the Lingaraj police has begun.
