Banking hours in Odisha changed in wake of Covid upsurge; check details

Bhubaneswar: In view of the Covid upsurge, the customer service hours at banks in Odisha was changed today. As per a decision taken by the State government, the customer service hours at banks have been from 10 AM to 2 PM and the banking hours from 10 AM to 4 PM.

The new timing of banks in the State has been effective from April 26 till May 15, 2021. The State’s Finance Department wrote to the State Level Bankers’ Committee (SLBC) in this regard today.

On Saturdays up to May 15, 2021, the weekend shutdown will be observed as well in all urban center bank branches and offices coming under the jurisdiction of ULBs in the State in sync with the order of State government.

The Finance Department’s letter also stated administrative offices and branches of banks will function with reduced staff of 50% on rotation basis.

However, branches having five or less staff, suitable decision may be taken by the respective controlling offices with regard to staff requirement keeping in view the business of the branch for effective functioning of the branch and ensure uninterrupted banking service to the public, it read.
