Bardhan in city; to hold seat sharing talks with BJD

Bhubaneswar, Mar 11:

Senior leader and former general secretary of the Communist Party of India (CPI) A B Bardhan arrived here this evening on a two day visit to Odisha.

Bardhan told reporters here that his party will be holding discussions with the BJD over a possible alliance for the forthcoming elections.

BJD vice president Kalpataru Das, who had recently said that the party will field candidates in all 147 Assembly and 21 Lok Sabha seats in the state however, has been in discussions with the JMM over a possible electoral alliance.

The other left party CPM has already announced its candidates for the forthcoming polls preferring to go it alone in Odisha.
