Bazaar Kolkata sealed over illegal parking, tax rule breach in Odisha’s Cuttack

Cuttack: The Cuttack Municipal Corporation (CMC)’s enforcement team today sealed the Bazaar Kolkata shopping mall at CDA Sector 7 in the city for illegal parking and other irregularities in construction of the building. As per reports, the management of the complex was running the mall while paying holding tax for a godown.

Official sources said the mall will remain closed until the shopping centre authorities furnish the required documents. CMC deputy commissioner Ajay Mohanty shared that the raid was conducted over traffic congestion concerns due to illegal parking at the mall. “It came to the fore that the parking space is unauthorised. The area meant for the purpose is being used for running the mall. There were some unauthorised constructions at the complex. Besides, the management was giving holding tax for a godown while running an entire shopping complex. Necessary action will be taken after verification of some documents. CMC will conduct more such raids on other shopping malls in the area in the upcoming days,” he added.
