BDO traced within three hours of abduction in Odisha

Balangir: Barely within three hours of abduction, the Puintala Block Development Officer (BDO) has been traced in Odisha’s Balangir.

The Odisha Administrative Officer (OAS) Saroj Kumar Mishra was abducted this afternoon allegedly by around 10-12 people while he was in his office.

Sources said the abductors released the administrative officer near Sub Collector office here this evening.

Balangir SP K Siva Subramani and Collector Arindam Dakua held a closed-door discussion with Mishra to know under what circumstances he was abducted and the possible reasons behind it.

Sources further said that one of the kidnappers Raghunath Gurandi has been identified with the help of CCTV footage.

“Block vice chairman Raghunath Gurandi is the abductor. He will be arrested soon. It is suspected that the BDO was abducted over tender issues,” SP said.

Efforts are on to nab the culprits.
