Be ready for possible situation due to black fungus: Odisha CM to officials

Bhubaneswar: During a review meeting on Covid-19 pandemic Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today directed officials to be ready for possible situation due to black fungus or Mucormycosis.

He added the focus of the administration and health officials should be on child care in case of possible third wave of Covid.

Patnaik emphasised on early identification of widows and orphans due to Covid casualties and sanction pension under Madhu Babu Pension Scheme within 15 days.

He also directed to provide advance pension for three months to all social security beneficiaries.

The Chief Minister observed patient occupancy at  ICUs and HDUs are decreasing as well as oxygen consumption is declining.

He hoped overall Covid situation will improve by next week.

Senior officials including Secretaries were present during the review meting held via video conference.
