Bengal woman injured in acid attack

Kolkata, Nov 18:

A housewife sustained burn injuries, including on her face, in an acid attack in West Bengal’s South 24 Parganas district, police said on Wednesday.

The incident took place on Tuesday night in Jaynagar area.

According to police, three youths threw acid on the woman while she was returning home in the evening.

“She sustained burn injuries on her face and both eyes. We have detained three people in this connection,” said a police officer.

The woman is currently admitted to a government hospital in Kolkata. (IANS)
