Bhubaneswar: In a tragic incident, two school students drowned in a pond in Pokhariput area of Odisha capital, today.

The deceased were identified as Subham Jena and Prakash Maharana. They were Class-X students of Gandamunda High School.

According to reports, the duo was returning home from tuition class when they went to the water body to take bath.

Unfortunately, they slipped into deep water while bathing and drowned.

Though they were rescued and rushed to the Capital Hospital here, doctors declared them dead.

A pall of gloom descended on the locality after the demise of the two students.
