Bhubaneswar on brink of wettest September in 63 years!

Bhubaneswar: During the evening weather bulletin issued by the India Meteorological Department (IMD) today, 119.1 mm rainfall was recorded in Bhubaneswar city from 8:30 AM to 5:30 PM. The city recorded 14.2 mm rainfall during past 24 hours ending at 8:30 AM today.

Weathermen predicted if this kind of rainfall continues overnight over the Odisha Capital, it could break  the record of rainfall in September 9, 1958. The city recorded 163 mm rain 63 years ago.

Cuttack city recorded 17.2 mm rainfall from 8:30 AM to 5:30 PM today and 5.4 mm during 24 hours ending at 8:30 AM.

Maximum 145 mm rainfall was recorded in Puri town from 8:30 AM to 5:30 PM today, the IMD data showed.

Weathermen predicted there will be rainfall in Bhubaneswar city for two more days. Red warning has been issued for seven districts including Khordha, where Bhubaneswar is located, till 8:30 AM on September 13, 2021 due to a well-marked low pressure area over north-west Bay of Bengal adjoining west-central Bay of Bengal.

Yellow warning has been issued for 11 districts including Khordha till 8:30 AM on September 14, 2021.
