BIGGEST SPIKE in Odisha’s COVID-19 cases; Khordha surpasses Ganjam with highest 298 cases

Bhubaneswar: Odisha witnessed highest ever spike in COVID-19 cases after 1833 more persons tested positive for the virus in the last 24 hours. With this, the state’s tally mounted to  42,550 informed the Government.

While 1118  cases have been reported from different quarantine centres, remaining 715 are local contacts. Contact tracing and followup action is underway, said the Health and Family Welfare Department.

The fresh cases have been reported from 29  districts. Khordha district today surpassed Ganjam by reporting highest  298 positive while the hotspot southern district registered 279 cases. 

In the last 24 hours,  16,055  swab samples were tested. So far 6,16,646 tests have been conducted in the state.
