Birla Global University conducts FDP on ‘Emerging Areas in Accounting Education and Research’

Bhubaneswar: The Birla School of Commerce, Birla Global University inaugurated a one-week online FDP on Emerging Issues in Accounting Education and Research on October 25 with an objective to create an intellectual consensus towards emerging areas in Accounting Research and Education.

The inaugural session was graced by the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. (Dr). P.P. Mathur, the Registrar, Prof. (Dr). B.K.Das, Dean School of Commerce, Prof.  (Dr.) Samson Moharana, and 49 participants from 11 states of the country.

The faculty resource person of the inaugural session was  Prof. (Dr.) D.V. Ramanna, from XIM University, Bhubaneshwar. He discussed the topic Accounting and Effective Governance Research and Practice. He discussed about the current application of Accounting process in External Reporting, Internal Decision Making, Measurement, Presentation and Recording.

The other topics for the discussion in the FDP include Forensic Accounting, Sustainable Corporate Reporting, Accounting Standards and Artifical Intelligence in financial decision making. The event ended with a question and answer session by the participants, followed by a vote of thanks.

The resource persons for other days of FDP include Prof C.S. Mishra, of VGSOM, IITK,CA Rajiv Sahu, Prof R.K.Swain,UU, Sudeep Pattnaik,VP, Society General Global Solutions, France, and CMA SatyaSundarMahasuar, Senior Finance Executive, NALCO. The FDP was coordinated by LopamudraNayak, AsstProfessor, Birla School of Commerce.
