BJD equidistant from Cong, BJP: Naveen on alliance row

Bhubaneswar: While BJD vice president Dr Damodar Rout’s view on aligning with Congress in the upcoming elections has created a whirlwind in the political circles in Odisha, party supremo Naveen Patnaik today broke his silence to put all speculations to rest.

Patnaik took to micro-blogging site Twitter to put a spanner on the rumour mills.

With this, Naveen has made it amply clear that BJD would go solo in the next elections where it would eye to come to power for the fifth consecutive time.

The political fever has shot up ever since Rout told media that the party is not averse to tie up with Congress to counter BJP in the state as we had reported here.

The party had distanced itself from Rout’s statement saying it was his ‘personal view’ and not party’s stance leaving it to party president Naveen Patnaik to decide on it.
