BJD flag on Odisha martyr’s coffin: 3 workers suspended

Bhubaneswar: The BJD today suspended its three workers in connection with the incident of party flag being placed on the coffin of Odisha martyr Ajit Kumar Sahoo.

Those placed under suspension are Binod Kumar Majhi, Santosh Kumar Sahoo and Gobardhan Das of Cuttack district, the BJD said in a press release.

A party flag was found on the coffin of the jawan, who died in an IED blast by militants in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pulwama district on June 17.

Reportedly, while the mortal remains of the soldier were being taken in a procession to his native village at Badasuanla in Kamakhyanagar area of Dhenkanal district for conduct of the last rites, the coffin was found draped in a BJD flag near Khuntuni area. The matter came to light after a picture of the same went viral on social media.
