While Congress and the Independent managed to win one seat each, the BJP could not open its account.

About 80.01 percent voters’ turnout was recorded in the elections held yesterday.

The Ranpur NAC has a population of 9969 of which 5300 are men and 4669 are women.

It may be mentioned that the election to the Ranpur NAC, which was to have been held along with polls for eight other urban local bodies (ULBs) in the state on April 7, had to be cancelled after it emerged that there were inconsistencies and inaccuracies in the reservation of wards on the basis of caste.
