BJD to support NDA’s candidate for LS Speaker post
New Delhi: Odisha’s ruling Biju Janata Dal (BJD) has decided to support Om Birla, BJP-led NDA’s candidate for the post of Lok Sabha Speaker, informed Pinaki Misra, BJD’s parliamentary party leader, today.
A decision in this regard was taken at the meeting of the parliamentary party held here. BJD has also signed the proposal on nomination of Om Birla as Lok Sabha Speaker.

“The Bharatiya Janata Party, which has a clear majority in the Lok Sabha, has nominated Om Birla for the post of the Lok Sabha Speaker and sought our support for him. Since we have always had constructive cooperation with the Centre, we will support the proposal,” said Misra.
The election for the Speaker’s post is scheduled for tomorrow.
