BJP demands CBI probe into Tikiri teacher murder

Terming the crime branch probe into the murder of Tikiri primary school teacher Itishree Pradhan as an eye wash to divert public attention, the state BJP today demanded the hand-over of the case to the CBI for an impartial inquiry.

“Since the Chief Minister, police and district administration, whom the lady teacher had requested for protection, are involved in the barbaric act, the crime branch cannot question them. So, the case should be handed over to CBI for an impartial probe into the case,” said senior BJP leader Biswabhusan Harichanran at a press conference here on Tuesday.

A BJP delegation led by Harichandan had visited the village of deceased and interacted with her family members on Monday.
