The decision on this count was taken today in the Core Committee meeting of Odisha BJP, that was held for the first time after Basant Panda took over as its president, said BJP Odisha In-charge Arun Singh.

Besides, the party discussed key issues prevalent in the state and chalked out strategies to counter BJD on the face of upcoming panchayat polls.

“Today we had a discussion on various key issues that need to be taken up to counter the Naveen Government. The BJD rule has turned out to be a complete disaster for Odisha. The people are facing enormous challenges in terms of drought, farmer suicide, water scarcity, lack of medicines in hospitals among others,” said Arun Singh.

“This government is corrupt and far removed from the concerns of the public. Bureaucracy, in the meanwhile, has taken over the mantle. We will reach out to people at the mandal (low-level BJP organisational circle) level and protest against the government,” he added.

Senior party leaders and functionaries including former President KV Singh Deo, Biswa Bhusan Harichandan, Bijoy Mohapatra, Pratap Sarangi were present in the meeting among others.
