Bhubaneswar, Feb 11:
A team of BJP leaders today met Odisha police DG KB Singh demanding arrest of BJD Cuttack-Barabati MLA Debashish Samantaray and Niali MLA Pramod Mallick for alleged hooliganism in the run up to and during IOCL Paradip Refinery dedication ceremony.
The BJP delegation also demanded immediate release of 11 arrested BJP workers and action against Jagatsinghpur SP.
“We want the entire incident to be investigated. The culprits should be punished, but the 11 BJP supporters that have been arrested without any fault should be released unconditionally,” said BJP spokesperson Samir Mohanty after meeting Singh.
“They met me and gave me two memorandums. I will look into it and do whatever is possible. Legal proceedings would be initiated based on enquiry reports,” said DGP KB Singh.
