BJP moves OHRC for action against ex-Kendrapara SP

The BJP today urged the Odisha Human Rights Commission (OHRC) to initiate stern action against former Kendrapara SP Satish Gajbhiye for his gross violation of human rights by resorting to brutal lathi charge on the people in the district on August 7 and 8.

A nine-member BJP delegation met OHRC acting chairperson Justice BK Mishra at his office chamber in the capital city and requested his early intervention in the matter.

In another development, the Puri Sachetana Nagarika Manch today registered an FIR against Gajbhiye in a court at Nimapara for illegal possession of land in Gop block area in Puri district.

Meanwhile, the suspended Kendrapara SP, who was interrogated by the State Vigilance yesterday in connection with his illegal possession of land, arrived at the State Police headquarters in Cuttack today.

However, the reason of his visit was not known.
