Bhubaneswar, Mar 18:
Over 200 BJP workers from Kalahandi district are staging a dharna at the party’s state headquarters since Monday evening to voice their dissent against the selection of former minister Pradipta Nayak as the party’s candidate for Kalahandi Lok Sabha seat.
The protesters want the party to withdraw Pradipta Nayak as the LS candidate and also change all the candidates announced for the five assembly seats in the district.
They said all the candidates for the assembly seats were announced on the advice of Pradipta Nayak which is not acceptable to them.
A leader of the party from Kalahandi Santosh Behera said “We have come to meet our party president and will demand the change of candidates. We have already met Dharmendra Pradhan, our national general secretary and have placed out demand before him. We have also met Prasanna Mishra in this regard”.
