The BJP Yuba Morcha today staged a demonstration demanding arrest of BJD MLAs Prabhat Biswal and Debasis Samantray and corporators for allegedly looting relief materials during the cyclone here.

“Action against Cuttack Municpal Corporation (CMC) commissioner and deputy commissioner is only eye wash. Even the Vigilance inquiry is an attempt to prolong the issue. Relief loot is rampant in the state by the ruling party leaders of the ruling party,” said youth wing president of BJP Umakanta Patnaik seeking immediate arrest of the ruling leaders involved in the relief loot.

He also said that even though the chief minister had announced that stern action would be taken against culprits and invoke ESMA for stalling process in distributing relief materials, no one has been booked under the Act, which shows the way of functioning of government.

The BJP leader alleged that the government has not been able to make proper assessment of the damage caused by the cyclone and consequent flood and is putting false reports before people.
